Thanksgiving Giveaway with IBEW Local #9!
On Tuesday, November 25th, The Club partnered with IBEW Local #9 from Tinley Park for our 10th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway. Each year, our friends from Local 9 generously donate turkeys and all the fixings for a full Thanksgiving dinner for 50 of our families. Because our members were out of school during Thanksgiving week, they were able to help with unloading, packing, and assisting families with carrying items to their cars. We are tremendously proud of our partnership with Local 9 and deeply appreciative of their continued support in making the Thanksgiving holiday more special for our families. A special thank-you also goes to Club Board Member Mike Somone for coordinating with Local 9 to ensure this event happens each year. The Adventures of JD and Marcus presents: Share the Warmth Drive!
On Wednesday, December 10th, we will once again partner with former Club member Jay Davis and his family for a winter hat, glove, scarf, and socks giveaway for Club members. The event will take place at the Youth Club from 5:00–6:30 p.m., and will also include a DJ, activities, and hot chocolate for those who attend. We thank Jay and his family in advance for their generosity. We previously partnered with Jay in August to provide backpacks and school supplies to Club members. It is incredibly rewarding to see former members giving back to their Club and community in such a meaningful way.
