A Heartfelt Appeal for Support on the International Day of Giving
As we approach the International Day of Giving, we are reminded of the incredible impact that generosity and community support have on the lives of young people. Today, we are honored to share a heartfelt message from two of our dedicated parents, Idris and Tanisha Balogun, whose children attend the West Cook County Youth Club (WCCYC).
Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members:
We hope this message finds you well. As parents of two kids who attend The West Cook
County Youth Club, we are writing to ask for your help. This year, as part of the International
Day of Giving, we are reaching out to our communities to help us support the programs and
services offered to our children and many others by the West Cook County Youth Club. The Youth Club is more than just a place for kids to spend time—it’s a safe, supportive
environment where children can explore new interests, and build new friendships and
relationships. From after-school tutoring and sports activities to family events, The Club
provides experiences that have a positive impact on our children and others. The West Cook
County Youth Club relies on the generosity of donors like all of us. Our contributions help keep
memberships affordable and make it possible for more kids and families to participate. Every
dollar raised goes directly towards funding programs, supplies, staffing, and other things that
make the club a fun environment everyday after school and in the Summer. If you’re able, please consider making a donation as part of the International Day of Giving.
No gift is too small, every dollar helps the club continue to support the young people in our
communities. Donations can be made directly to the West Cook County Youth Club through
their website, or via regular mail to PO Box 183, Bellwood, Il. 60104. If you have questions
please contact Executive Director Ed Sheehan at esheehan@wccyc.org. Thank you for taking
the time to read our letter and considering this opportunity to make a difference for the kids in
our communities.
With gratitude
Idris & Tanisha Balogun
We are deeply grateful to Idris and Tanisha for their inspiring words and unwavering support. Their message captures the essence of what the WCCYC strives to provide: a nurturing space where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
