Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Youth Club Activities Celebrate Dr. King’s Legacy
On Wednesday, January 15, the West Cook County Youth Club hosted activities for club members to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday.
Younger club members watched two educational videos about Dr. King’s life and participated in a Kahoot online trivia game, featuring questions based on the videos. Meanwhile, middle school and high school students watched Dr. King’s powerful 1967 speech, “What is in Your Life’s Blueprint,” delivered to students at Barratt Junior High School in Philadelphia. Following the video, students engaged in a thoughtful discussion about how the speech might be adapted if delivered in 2025.

The Club was honored to support this meaningful annual event and looks forward to participating again next year.

Golf for Life: A New Partnership
The West Cook County Youth Club is excited to announce a new partnership with the Golf for Life Youth Golf Development Program. The program’s mission is to introduce young people to golf, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the sport as a source of enjoyment and exercise.
Club members interested in learning golf can participate in a week-long series of clinics and lessons from June 23–27 at the Zigfield Troy Golf Course in Woodridge, Illinois. This program is designed to provide participants with basic golf knowledge and skills. More details about the program and registration will be shared as we approach the summer.
